Prologue: Open discussion on art and the Pader

From 28 June to 5 October 2025, the third edition of Tatort Paderborn will once again turn the public space into an exhibition area. The exhibition will be accompanied by various events. The first of these was an open discussion at the Deelenhaus on 27 March 2025 at 5.30 pm.

The exhibition "The River is Me - an Exhibition on the Pader" will be held in the summer in the city of Paderborn. It will feature works of art that address the river, its role in the city and its significance to the people in different ways. International artists have been invited to explore the river and its role in the city artistically. The exhibition is being supported by various cultural institutions, artists and other organisations.

Guests:
Dr Frank Becker, former head of the Office for the Environment and Green Spaces and board member of the Friends of the Pader
Dr Felicitas Demann, Director of the Natural History Museum of the City of Paderborn
Dr Andreas Neuwöhner, Director of the City and Residence Museum of Paderborn
Sven Niemann, cultural scientist and art mediator from Paderborn

The first event was a joint presentation by the teams of "Tatort Paderborn 2025 - The River is Me" and "City.People.River - The Pader for Europe," which was held in the context of the project to apply for the European Cultural Heritage Label 2025. The event was an open, interactive discussion on the interaction of art with history, ecology and urban development along the river Pader. This event was held to collect questions that will be addressed during the summer in connection with the exhibition.
The "Art_Flow_Talks" series of events will be held in the context of the "The River is Me" exhibition in cooperation with "City.People.River - The Pader for Europe" and the Catholic University of North Rhine-Westphalia (Paderborn).

Further dates are: 22.5., 3.7. and 1.10.2025.
