Workshop on the Contract with the Pader

As part of the artwork A Human Reconciliation with Water, Anne Duk Hee Jordan, together with the lawyer Dr. Bernd Söhnlein, has developed a contract. This contract is a call to recognize the essence of the Pader in all its facets, to continue exploring it, and to take responsibility for the river’s ecological health. It is based on existing European law and inspired by numerous international initiatives.

The contract proposes the establishment of a commission that represents the community of life within the Pader and acts as trustee for the river.

At the end of the exhibition, the artist’s impulse will now be transferred into the foundation of a real commission.

Sunday, 28 September 2025, 3–5 pm
First of two workshops

Together with the artist, the following key questions will be discussed:

1. What is the purpose of a commission for the Pader?

2. What are the concrete key objectives of the commission (short-, medium- and long-term)?

3. What does a commission need?

The artist will be present and thereby hands over her artistic impulse to the public in Paderborn.

In the second workshop (Thursday, 6 November 2025, 6–8 pm), the results of the first session will be taken up and the commission will be formally established.

Everyone interested is warmly invited to join the discussion. Participation is free of charge.
